Jesus Castro-Ubiles was in court today, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of second degree kidnapping and criminal possession of a weapon.

He is facing 35 years in state prison when he is sentenced October 5th. He was facing up to life in prison before the plea deal. Castro-Ubiles’ attorney says his client is cooperating because what happened to the students went far beyond what he expected.

Two University of Rochester seniors were abducted and held for nearly 40 hours, beaten, sexually abused and one was shot. They were finally rescued by a SWAT team.
They were apparently mistaken for two other people who had stolen drugs from the plotters.
