Tyrod Taylor’s most extensive action of the preseason was cut short after just two series when he sustained a concussion in the first quarter of Buffalo’s game against Baltimore.
Buffalo Bills Insider Chris Brown provides the details. Here is his report:
The Bills starters were supposed to see their longest stretch of action in the preseason Saturday night against the Ravens, but that wasn’t the case for QB Tyrod Taylor. He exited the game at the end of the team’s second possession with a concussion ending his night after just six plays.
Taylor was sacked on a 3rd-and-7 play from the Bills’ 22-yard line and his head was whipped backward into the turf.
Taylor rolled over onto all fours and stayed down for five to 10 seconds. He then tried to spring to his feet, but did not appear to have his balance. Athletic trainers raced onto the field to stop him from trying to jog off and slowly walked him to the sideline.
After a brief examination on the sidelines, Taylor was taken to the locker room for evaluation for a head injury. The team placed the quarterback in the concussion protocol, and soon thereafter the team confirmed that he had sustained a concussion.
Rookie QB Nate Peterman came on to replace Taylor in the lineup for the Bills.
Buffalo ended up losing the game, 13-9, as they had possession in the final two minutes but turned the ball over.
