A man accused of trying to crash his car into a pair of patrol cars in Brighton has refused a plea agreement and will go to trial.
Tyler Keys has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted aggravated assault on a police officer. The 21-year-old man got in trouble when an argument with his pregnant girlfriend at their apartment in Webster turned physical. Keys drove off, but was tracked down in Brighton where officers tried to stop him.
Instead, Keys drove at the patrol cars, causing one to crash into a curb. One of the officers fired two shots at his car, which didn’t hit anything but caused Keys to crash into a parked car.
