Two men were shot in separate incidents on Rochester streets Tuesday afteroon, even as Rochester police were holding a news conference on their plans to combat violence in Rochester.
At about 2:15 p.m., police were called to the corner of Hudson Avenue and Gilmore Street for a report of gunshots. While they were investigating at the scene, a 26-year-old city man arrived at Rochester General Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. He’d been hit several times in the lower body but is expected to survive. No suspects are in custody yet.
Just over an hour later, a 41-year-old city man was shot on Warner Street and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was hit in the lower body and is also expected to survive. There is no arrest to report in that incident, either.
Police have both incidents under investigation.
