Rochester Police are investigating two fatal shootings over the weekend, one at Cobb’s Hill Park and the other on the Northeast Side.

Police say 20-year-old Issahia Mathis was pronounced dead shortly after friends dropped him off at Rochester General Hospital late Friday night. He’d been shot in a parking lot at the park off Norris Drive. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to please call 911.

The second fatal shooting came Sunday night on Bernard Street. Police say 35-year-old Jermaine Shelton was sitting in a car with his father on Bernard Street about 5:00 p.m. when another man walked up and shot the victim in the upper body. Shelton died after being taken to the hospital. Again, police are asking anyone with information to call 911.
