Rochester police have arrested two men in connection with an attempted robbery on Joseph Avenue that left a third man shot and injured.

Police say the 64-year-old victim was shot Tuesday evening and is in stable condition. Shortly after, police were able to identify parolee Robert Daniel Colon and released probationer Jose Flores-Ortiz as suspects in the crime. Both were charged with assault, attempted robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property (the handgun used in the crime).

Colon was on parole for a burglary conviction, and Flores-Ortiz on probation for illegal possession of a handgun.
