Donald Trump has changed his definition of Upstate New York. In an interview on the Fred Dicker show on WGDJ in Albany, Trump called Upstate a “death zone.”
The last time he referred to Upstate, he called it a “war zone.” We’re not sure if that’s an upgrade or a downgrade or about the same.
Trump’s point was that Upstate’s economy was killed by the North American Free Trade Agreement which depleted manufacturing jobs. He blamed Hillary Clinton for saying she would bring back jobs as a Senator, then supporting what he calls bad trade deals as Secretary of State.
All polls so far show Hillary Clinton with a wide lead among New York voters, powered by heavy Democratic majorities Downstate.
