A Gates man has been charged with forgery and grand larceny after allegedly stealing more than $88,000 from his employer.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says 52-year-old Richard Luciano stole thousands of dollars from MRI Contractors over the last three years.
Luciano worked as a dump truck driver, delivering topsoil to a business in Mendon. He was reportedly accepting a check made out to MRI for his deliveries, then altering the checks to his own name and depositing the money in his own bank account.
Luciano is accused of faking more than 100 checks. He was arraigned in Pittsford Town Court and his being held on $15,000 bail.
