State Police say the victim of a deadly car crash in the Southern Tier last week was a Rochester man.
Troopers say David Edkin was driving on I-390 in Avoca when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel early on the morning of January 4th. His car drifted into the guardrail, flipped over it and rolled down an embankment. One of his four passengers, 29-year-old Brandon Walker, died of his injuries after being taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Edkin and the other passengers were injured, but survived. A criminal investigation is underway.
