Tre’Davious White can be described in numerous with a multitude of words. Shy is not among them.
White has been the Buffalo Bills’ top cornerback since he was the team’s first-round pick at the 2017 NFL Draft, the first draft under current head coach Sean McDermott. Currently entering his second full offseason with the team, White is once again lobbying his team to tab his former team.
Cornerback Greedy Williams and linebacker Devin White are two of LSU’s top draft-bound prospects ahead of April’s draft. White said he wants to see the Bills select one or both of them, even with their top pick at No. 9 overall, as both as slated by many draft analysts as first-round talent.
“I’m waiting on draft night to see where those guys go. Hopefully we can get one of them. We’re at nine, I hope we can snatch one of those guys because they’re going to make our team so much better,” White told the Journal Review in Louisiana recently.
Heading into last year’s draft, the Bills were wheeling and dealing their way around the draft board. Buffalo ended up with quarterback Josh Allen and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds as their first-round picks.
It’s all water under the bridge now, but last offseason White suggested the Bills take a few other former LSU players, defensive end Arden Key and cornerback Donte Jackson.
Buffalo ended up not taking White’s advice last offseason. Jackson was a second-round pick to the Carolina Panthers while Key was a third rounder of the Oakland Raiders.
This season the Bills are pretty set at cornerback and linebacker, too. White knows that as well. Still, you can’t say he won’t go to bat for his guys.
