Some area counties have declared travel advisories as the snow is falling harder.
Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo is urging drivers to avoid unnecessary travel after 7 pm because of deteriorating road conditions and to give snow plows the opportunity to do their jobs. Motorists should use additional caution if travel is necessary tonight until further notice.
Ontario County Sheriff Phil Povero has declared a Travel Advisory until 10 tonight…followed by a No Unnecessary Travel order from 10 p.m. until 5 Wednesday morning. That’s also to give highway crews a better chance to plow and because conditions are expected to be more hazardous overnight.
Wayne County also has a travel advisory in place. It also elevates to a “No Unnecessary Travel” as of 10 p.m.
Livingston County has a travel advisory in effect….and Seneca County closed all roads at 5 p.m. except for emergencies.
