The National Weather Service confirms that an EF1 tornado hit Livingston County as a band of severe thunderstorms swept across the area early Monday morning.

The tornado touched down near Springwater, near the Conesus-Springwater town line. It traveled about a mile on the ground, fortunately in an unpopulated area where it mostly uprooted and damaged trees. Peak winds were at 110 miles per hour.

CONTINUED ACROSS THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN STREET AND ROUTE 15,
THROUGH A SWAMP, AND THROUGH A SECOND WOODED AREA CROSSING 
MARROWBACK ROAD.
