Gates police say the motorcyclist from Ogden who was killed in a crash Wednesday ran a red light before he struck the side of a car that was turning left with a green arrow.
The impact threw rider Jacob Imburgia from the motorcycle and off the Manitou overpass onto the Route 531 expressway below. He was killed instantly.
Police are also looking into the speed of the motorcycle as a factor in the crash.

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo says a special county legislature meeting tomorrow morning will begin the final phase of abolishing the county local development corporations.
The three LDCs were supposed to be a more cost-effective and efficient way of managing some major local government projects, including a 21st century overhaul of the first responder’s communication systems. But it led to a bid rigging scandal and an investigation by the State Attorney General.
The bill coming up for a vote will allow the county to refinance the debt carried by the LDCs. That requires a Home Rule Message from the county legislature which then has to be approved by the state legislature in Albany.

Rochester Police arrested half-a-dozen people over the past three weeks for possession of illegal guns…lending emphasis to Mayor Lovely Warren’s declaration today that June is Gun Violence Awareness Month in Rochester.
Warren says the notion that it’s OK to carry an illegal gun, hang out with people who carry unregistered guns and freely use them to settle any dispute has to end. She held her announcement at a former Wegmans’ site where her grandfather was shot and nearly killed years ago while working as a security guard.
Events started tonight with a gun violence awareness event with the United Christian Leadership Ministry.

The Livingston County Sheriff says two people have been arrested after arranging a straw firearm purchase in Livonia. The two involved were actually arrested on April 25th, but Sheriff Tom Dougherty says they withheld notice of it until now to protect the ongoing investigation.
Sheriff Dougherty says Dale Bettis of Mount Morris tried to guy firearms at an estate sale in Bergen…but he failed the federal background check. Bettis persuaded Cathy Allison of Livonia to buy the weapons for him…and she handed them over to Bettis without going through a licensed dealer. That’s a violation of state and federal law.
Bettis was charged with four counts of Criminal Purchase of a Weapon and is being held on $2,500 bail. Allison was charged with Unlawful Private Sale of a Firearm and released on an appearance ticket.
