The formation of outdoor men’s and women’s teams were announced at a press conference on Saturday.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Salvatore’s Pizza Family announced the return of the Rochester Lancers at a live Press Conference on Saturday in the Kick This! Studio at iHeartMedia Studios, 100 Chestnut St.

“We are proud to be the title sponsor of this historic sports franchise in the Rochester, N.Y. area,” said Salvatore ‘SoccerSam’ Fantauzzo, CEO/Founder of Salvatore’s Pizzeria and Host of Kick This! “Marc Mandell and Nick Mojsovski, the founders and owners of the Rochester River DogZ, teamed up with the living legend, Doug Miller. The team will now be part of the Rochester Lancers family.”

Men’s and women’s teams also were announced as women’s soccer returns to Rochester with the Lady Lancers.

Marc Mandell will be General Manager, Nick Mojsovski will be Business Director, and Doug Miller will be Head Coach of the Lancers.

The new outdoor Rochester Lancers will play in the National Premier Soccer League starting in May, 2017.

“I am excited to help bring back the Rochester Lancers to this area,” said Miller. “After meeting Nick and Marc, I thought as a group we would have the capability to bring back the soccer culture we created with the Indoor Lancers.”

All outdoor Rochester Lancers home games will be played at the Wegmans Sports Complex at the Aquinas Institute, 1127 Dewey Ave. The 1967 Lancers played at the original Aquinas Stadium.

“Aquinas is super excited about hosting the Rochester Lancers,” said Anthony Bianchi, Athletic Director at Aquinas. “I recall great memories going to the original Lancer games with my Dad, I look forward to reestablishing the Lancers and Aquinas tradition. I am in favor of everything that helps grow the sport of soccer here in Rochester.”
