A pair of Rochester 13-year-olds have been referred to Family Court after they smuggled a gun into the Dr. Alice Holloway Young School of Excellence on Adams Street in Corn Hill.
The City School District says in a statement that the boys somehow “circumvented security screening” and were able to get the gun inside. School security then retrieved the gun and turned it over to Rochester police. They say the gun was not used to threaten anyone in the school.
The school’s security protocols are under review. Parents told local media they want answers about how this happened.
