A teenager accused as a suspect in a South Carolina murder is now one of two people charged with kidnapping a 16-year-old Ontario County teen.
The 17-year-old suspect is being held in secure juvenile detention, and was charged by Ontario County authorities on Thursday. Charged along with the 17-year-old is 21-year-old Logan French, arrested at his Canandaigua home and also charged with first degree kidnapping. He’s being held without bail.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says the two kidnapped the 16-year-old on May 23 and held them in a car for 12 hours, driving around Ontario and Wayne Counties. Investigators spotted the car in Palmyra and stopped it in Arcadia.
The 17-year-old driver of that car had recently moved to Wayne County. He’s a suspect in the murder of a 6-year-old in Orangeburg, County South Carolina. Police there say the family’s home was targeted after a drug deal went bad, but the shooters mistakenly targeted the wrong house.
