A former Livingston County teacher has pleaded guilty to federal child porn charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Derek Hagen, 29, of Batavia, was a teacher in the Dansville School System when he was accused of producing and possessing pornography involving prepubescent minors. The charge carries a mandatory 15 year prison sentence.
Hagen admitted to a pattern of sexual contact with a minor between the ages of four and eight. This took place between January, 2018 and July of 2021. He videoed the contacts and uploaded the images to internet sites.
In addition, Hagen was a teacher in 2018 at the Brockport Childhood Development Center in the infant, toddler and preschool classrooms. During that time he produced sexually explicit images of children entrusted to his care.
