Rochester police responding to reports of gunfire Wednesday night on Merrimac Street near Hudson Avenue found a 58-year-old city man who had been shot in the upper body. The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition. Police are still investigating.

A Rochester 16-year-old was shot on Wooden Street in Rochester, then rode his bicycle to Genesee Street seeking help. Police say he was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by a private car and is being treated for his injuries. He’s expected to recover. The incident happened late Tuesday night.
