Fire struck a house being used as a group home in Irondequoit’s Laurelton Neighborhood this afternoon. Firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from the house at 93 Governor Terrace when they arrived. They evacuated the residents, assisting the last one out in a wheelchair. There’s no word on anyone being hurt. The house was severely damaged.

An Irondequoit man was treated at Strong Memorial Hospital this evening after being shot in the leg at 31 Mazda Terrace in Rochester. Police say the 23-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police are still investigating.
