Rochester drops its third straight game as the drive for the playoffs continues.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Rochester Red Wings failed to pick up any ground in the chase for the International Legue Wild Card spot as they lost to the Syracuse Chiefs, 6-4, on Tuesday night in the Salt City.

Daniel Palka gave the Wings a 1-0 lead with his 6th homer of the season.

Aquinas graduate Chris Bostick singled and scored the Chiefs’ first run in their 6-run third inning as he led off the inning.

In the sixth frame, Tommy Field doubled and scored on a triple by Adam Brett Walker for Rochester’s second run.

James Beresford tripled in the seventh inning and scored on Wilfredo Tovar’s basehit.

For the Wings final run in the ninth, Beresford reach on an error by Syracuse second baseman Bostick, and eventually scored on a single by Field.

Despite the loss, Rochester is 10-5 against Syracuse this season.

REMOVE: INF Heiker Meneses, reinstated from disabled list and transferred to Double-A Chattanooga
CHANGE: RHP Marcus Walden, placed on disabled list with right shoulder strain (retro to 8/8)
