SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Rochester Americans continue to have problems finding a way to get a victory over Thruway rival Syracuse as the Crunch registered a 4-0 victory here on Saturday night.

The loss ended the Amerks modest 2-game winning streak, following their 6-game winless skid.

The Crunch (12-5-0-2), who lead the North Division with 26 points, netted the only goal of the first period on an early power play.

Syracuse added a pair of goals in the second period for a 3-0 bulge. The Crunch tacked on an empty net tally to secure the victory.

Amerks goalie Linus Ullmark recorded 34 saves as Crunch netminder made 25 saves in registering the shutout.

Evan Rodrigues led the Amerks with 4 shots on goal as Erik Burgdoerfer, Cal O’Reilly, Casey Nelson, and Justin Bailey had 3 apiece.

Rochester (9-12-0-1) is off until Friday when they travel to Allentown, PA. for games against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday and Saturday. The Amerks then journey over to Hershey on Sunday to battle the Bears before returning to the Blue Cross Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 14 versus the Toronto Marlies.
