The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a crash Saturday at Empire Boulevard and Rossman Drive in Penfield led to the arrest of a suspect who fled the scene.
The SUV had been stolen earlier in the day from Irondequoit. It was spotted by State Police who gave chase prior to the crash. The fleeing SUV struck another car. That driver went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the stolen car was turned over to Irondequoit Police.
The MCSO says it was not involved in the chase that led up to the crash. One officer suffered minor injuries after being bitten by a K9 dog.
