Geneseo Police say a SUNY Geneseo student from Penfield died last week of a possible drug overdose.
The village police chief says 21-year-old Colin Murphy was found dead on November 22nd in an off-campus apartment he shared with three other men. One of the roommates was home at the time but police say he wasn’t involved.
Chief Eric Osganian says the region has had problems with heroin and prescription opioid drugs, but he’s not speculating about what drugs might have caused Murphy’s death. All his officers now carry naloxone, the overdose recovery drug.
