SUNY Brockport has suspended it’s men’s soccer program, pending the outcome of an investigation into possible violation of the COVID-19 rules.
The college says in a statement it learned over the weekend from Brockport Police about a gathering in the village, attended by more than 50 people, who were not social distancing or wearing masks.
Pending the results of the investigation, the Brockport men’s soccer team is blocked from all team functions including workouts, practices and team meetings. Team members have to report to campus to take part in the college’s pool surveillance testing.
Brockport President Heidi McPherson says she’s extremely disappointed at this development, and the vast majority of students are following the COVID-19 safety guidelines.
