The Rochester Red Wings concluded their successful road trip with an 8-6 victory over the louisville Bats on Sunday afternoon.
The victory, combined with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s loss, leaves Rochester (32-25) alone in first place in the International League North Division.
In the second inning with Tommy Field on base following a single, designated hitter Buck Britton struck out on a foul tip. He argued the call, as well as Red Wings manager Mike Quade, and both were ejected from the game by home plate umpire Ryan Additon.
Adam Brett Walker came up next and belted a 2-run homer over the fence in left-center field.
However, the Bats knotted the game with a pair of runs in the fourth off Rochester starter Kyle Gibson, who was making a rehab start from the Minnesota Twins. He hurled 7 innings and got the win.
The Wings staged a 3-run, 2-out rally in the fifth. Joreg Polanco started it off with a solo homer. Singles by Kennys Vargas and Eddie Rosario set the stage for a 2-run double by Field.
Rochester tacked on 2 more runs in the sixth as Carlos Paulino ripped a 1-out single. Wilfredo Tovar laced a triple to center, and Logan Schafer bring him home with a single to left.
The Wings scored their final run in the 9th on Walker’s sacrifice fly which brought home Rosario with the 8th run.
Sean Burnett received the Save, despite yielding 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th.
The Red Wings are home on Monday and Tuesday to the Buffalo Bisons (31-25), who trail Rochester by a half game for first place.
The roster moves continued on Sunday as RHP Kyle Gibson, had his Major League rehab assignment transferred to Rochester; RHP Alex Meyer was placed on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation (dated 6/4, retro to 6/3); and LHP Nick Greenwood was transferred from Double-A Chattanooga. He will join the Red Wings when the team returns to Rochester on Monday.

The Buffalo Bills announced that the team has signed LB Jamari Lattimore. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lattimore comes to Buffalo after spending the 2015 season with the New York Jets. Prior to arriving in New York last season, Lattimore spent the first three seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers.
The 6-2, 229-pound Middle Tennessee State product has appeared in 64 career games, starting nine, while accumulating 68 tackles, two sacks and one interception—in addition to 22 solo and eight assisted special teams tackles. Lattimore, 27, is a native of Miami, FL.

The National Lacrosse League’s record-setting leading scorer, Dhane Smith, will be joining the Rochester Rattlers for the remainder of the Major League Lacrosse outdoor season now that the Buffalo Bandits have concluded the NLL playoffs.
The Saskatchewan Rush captured their second straight Champion’s Cup title on Saturday with an 11-10 victory over the Bandits in Saskatoon. The Rush won the Best-of-3 series, 2-0.
Smith tallied 12 points in the series, 3 goals and 3 assists in the 11-9 loss in Buffalo, and 2 goals and 4 assists in the 11-10 loss in Saskatchewan. He led all scorers in the NLL playoffs with 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points.
During the 18-game regular season, Smith scored 72 goals and had 65 assists for a record 137 points.
