Two Penfield middle school students are facing charges after a 14-year-old brought a realistic replica gun to Bay Trail Middle School on Scribner Road…and a 13-year-old then pointed the replica weapon down a hallway crowded with other students.
A Monroe County Sheriff’s Department investigation found the replica weapon was not capable of being fired. Deputies and the Penfield Central School District credit another student with reporting the apparent gun to administrators, who seized it from one of the student’s backpacks.
The 13-year-old was charged with menacing and released to parental custody. The 14-year-old remains under investigation,
