A juvenile female who went to a corner store at Central Park and Scio Street in Rochester was locked inside the store and sexually assaulted by two store clerks who are now under arrest.
Rochester police say a search of the store turned up an illegal 9 mm handgun with 48 rounds in a drum magazine. The gun had been reported stolen in Ohio. They also found five pounds of marijuana.
Police say there may be more victims associated with this store, and they continue to investigate. They’re asking anyone who may have been victimized by these clerks to come forward.
Arrested and sent to the Monroe County Jail were: Shadad Alghaithy, age 20, charged with Rape in the 1st Degree (B Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (C Felony), 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree (D Felony), Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the 2nd Degree (E Felony), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree (E Felony), and Unlawful Imprisonment (A Misdemeanor). He is currently a level 2 Sex Offender based upon a 2021 conviction for Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors in the 1st Degree.
James Hampton, age 28, is charged with Rape in the 1st Degree (B Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (C Felony), 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree (D Felony), Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the 2nd Degree (E Felony), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree (E Felony), and Unlawful Imprisonment (A Misdemeanor). He is currently on Parole for a conviction of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree.
