Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand say the Senate has passed legislation renaming the STOCK Act for the late Congresswoman Louise Slaughter.
The STOCK Act was Slaughter’s “Stop Trading On Congressional Knowledge” law which outlaws members of Congress from profiting by confidential information they learn about business. Slaughter was the act’s original author in a push for Congressional ethics.
President Trump is expected to sign the bill into law.
