The New York State average price for gasoline is down by five cents from last week, at $2.78 per gallon.

For the five-county Rochester region, the average is down five cents at $2.76; Buffalo is down four cents at $2.88 and Syracuse is down five cents at $2.66.

Gas prices have been dropping as the world supply of crude oil rises. That trend could change this week as OPEC meets. They’re expected to cut oil production, which could push gasoline prices back up.
