An advocacy agency says an employee of the New York State School for the Blind in Batavia has been arrested for allegedly endangering three children who were in his care.

Kenneth Darch of Batavia was a recreation therapist at the state-run school. He’s charged with three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and two of Harassment. He’s accused of hitting two of the children while on a field trip and using abusive language. He also allegedly told the bus driver to take them to jail instead of back to school.

Darch has been arraigned in Batavia City Court and will reappear to face the charges on March 7th. He’s been placed on administrative leave.
