Members of the State Assembly Judiciary Committee say it will be several weeks before they recommend whether or not to bring articles of impeachment against Governor Andrew Cuomo.
A report a week ago from the State Attorney General found that Governor Cuomo had sexually harassed 11 women. The Judiciary Committee on Monday convened in a previously scheduled meeting on allegations against the governor.
Assemblyman Charles Lavine said several closed door meetings have been scheduled, which will be followed by public sessions. Members will go over evidence that went into the AG’s report in the closed door sessions, and question witnesses during the public sessions which will begin after August 23rd.
After that review, the panel will also review statements from the governor’s legal team and any other information the governor wants to provide.
