Rochester drops its 4th straight game to the Saints.

ST. PAUL, MN. — The Rochester Red Wings dropped their fourth straight game on Friday night, losing 6-4 to the streaking St. Paul Saints.

LF Andrew Stevenson hit a home run in the first at bat, and 1B Jake Noll registered a double that sent 2B Ildermaro Vargas home as the Wings jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the first. Saints C Jose Gody hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning to tie it at 2-2.

The Wings scored a run in the third and fourth innings thanks to a Josh Palacios homer and a Donovan Casey RBI, but St. Paul continued to hang around.

Cade Cavalli’s hot streak came to an end in Friday’s loss, as the righty gave up six hits and four runs through five innings of action. LHP Francisco Perez relieved Cavalli and allowed a pair of runs before LHP Luis Avilan saw the mound. Friday was Avilan’s first outing after being transferred from Advanced-A Wilmington. The loss marks Rochester’s first four-game losing streak as the season, but the Wings continue to hold onto first place in the IL East.

The Wings will see the Saints for game five on Saturday evening, with first pitch set for 8:07 p.m., as Rochester looks for its first win in the state of Minnesota since 1955.
