Textiles spontaneously combusting triggered a fire at a factory on St. Paul Street Monday evening.

The Rochester Fire Department says an automatic alarm brought crews to the Alsco Plant at 548 St. Paul at 5:45 p.m. They found smoke coming from the building and tracked down the fire, which was contained by the building’s sprinkler system to only one area.

The workers got out of the building safely and nobody was hurt.
