A Spencerport man who sat in a parking lot so long that people called 911 was arrested after leading New York State Police on a chase down Route 104 in Wayne County.

Troopers say they were called to the Save A Lot in the Town of Ontario for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When they tried to talk with the driver, 27-year-old Louis Alletto hit the gas and drove off. He refused to pull over and was pursued down the highway into Monroe County, where he exited onto Salt Road in Webster and lost control of his car.

Alletto drove onto a lawn at 922 Salt Road, then jumped out of the car and ran. He was caught after a brief struggle with troopers, who found that the car was stolen.

Alletto was charged with unlawful flight, possession of stolen property, driving while high on drugs and a handful of other traffic charges. The car had been stolen in Rochester on Wednesday.
