The City of Rochester says Attorney Carrie Cohen has been named as the Special Independent Counsel to conduct the city’s investigation into the death of Daniel Prude.
Cohen is with the Washington, DC firm of Morrison & Foerster, hired following City Council’s legislation approved last month. A joint statement from the City Corporation Counsel’s office and the Mayor’s office says she’s been given full authority to represent the city without any interference from any city office. She will obtain testimony and documents related to the Prude case in conducting her investigation.
City Council has its own investigation underway and the two will facilitate each other’s work
