New York State Police have arrested a Southern Tier woman on charges of manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child, more than three years after the death of her newborn son in 2013.
Troopers say 30-year-old Britney Updyke of Hornell was arrested after a grand jury indictment. She’s been arraigned in Steuben County Court and released on her own recognizance until her next court appearance.
Investigators say the infant died because Updyke was using drugs including fentanyl and bath salts near the time of the child’s birth.
