Fire struck a house at 29 Sobieski Street early Saturday…and a second alarm was called when the flames began spreading to the house next door.
The Rochester Fire Department says firefighters were called about 3:30 this morning. They arrived to find flames billowing out the side door of the house and beginning to extend to 33 Sobieski Street. They evacuated two adults and three children from the rear apartment of that neighboring house, plus two adults from the front apartment.
Firefighters confirmed the house where the fire started was unoccupied, and they had the flames under control in about half an hour. The cause is under investigation, and the Red Cross is helping the displaced families from next door.
No injuries were reported.
