Slaughter (D-Fairport) Joins Dems in House Sit In

Rochester-area Congresswoman Louise Slaughter is among a number of Democratic members of the house who began a “sit in” on the House floor Wednesday, demanding the Republican leadership bring up a bipartisan gun control bill for a vote.

Speaker Paul Ryan has declined to do so. Here’s Slaughter speaking on the floor. Video of the event is  being streamed via the Periscope App. Major media including CNN have been airing the raw video during the day as C-SPAN’s cameras in the chamber have been ordered shut down by the house leadership.
