Republicans passed the tax reform bill without any Democratic votes….and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter of Rochester says that’s because Democrats are convinced of one thing about the GOP plan…it won’t work.
Slaughter says she believes trickle-down economics failed Presidents Reagan and Bush as well as Kansas Governor Sam Brownback. She says the bill is likely to do the reverse of what Republicans hope to see, sending more jobs out of the country rather than bringing them back.
Western New York Republican Chris Collins voted for the bill, saying comments like Slaughter’s are based on “fake news and deceptive studies.” He says he’s staking his re-election on the bill delivering a middle class tax cut.
