Rochester police report a house hit by gunfire early Friday morning, and a man arrested for assault after a stabbing incident.
Shortly before 1:00 a.m. the city’s ShotSpotter system alerted police to shots on Austin Street between Lyell Avenue and Otis Street on the West Side. Police found an occupied home had been hit by gunfire but nobody was injured.
Shortly after, police were called to Columbia Avenue for a disturbance and found a 29-year-old city woman who had been stabbed. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. A 31-year-old man has been arrested for this crime.
