Shots were fired into Rochester houses early Friday morning in two unrelated incidents, in one case narrowly missing a sleeping 14-year-old.
Police say they were called to Maria Street by the ShotSpotter system shortly before 5:00 a.m. and found an occupied house had been hit by several bullets. A 14-year-old was sleeping on an air mattress which was hit and deflated, but the teenager was uninjured. Nobody was hurt.
Then at about 6:11 a.m. more shots were fired on Augustine Street off Dewey Avenue in the Maplewood Neighborhood. An occupied house was hit by the gunfire. Again, nobody was hurt.
Police continue to investigate both crimes.
