Four people were injured and one killed in apparently unrelated shootings across Rochester on Sunday.
One man died after being brought to Strong Memorial Hospital after he was shot about 2:00 p.m. near driving Park Avenue and Pierpont Street. That victim was in his 20s. His murder is the 23rd homicide for Rochester this year.
At about 12;15, a 53-year-old man was shot on Glide Street near Otis Street. He was take to Strong Hospital. About half-an-hour later, the city’s ShotSpotter system sent police to Parsells Avenue. They found a 28-year-old woman who had been shot. She’s recovering at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Next, shortly before 4:00 p.m., police were called to Dewey Avenue where a 54-year-old man was shot. He was recovering at Strong. Then, just after 5:00 p.m., a man walked into Rochester General Hospital seeking help after being shot on Joseph Place. He was also recovering.
No suspects are in custody in any of the five shootings.
