A man who pleaded guilty to attempting to kill the Wyoming County Sheriff has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Lynn Hall pleaded guilty to an attempted murder charge. In December, 2018 he drove behind the sheriff flashing his lights, then jumped Sheriff Greg Rudolph when he got out of his car to see what was the matter. He tried to grab the sheriff’s gun, but was pulled back by a couple of good Samaritans and State Police who came by the scene.
Hall had initially been ruled incompetent to stand trial, but was later deemed competent. The trial was then delayed by COVID-19.
