Rochester’s regional gasoline price rose substantially over the last week. The AAA reports the Rochester average is now $2.76 per gallon for regular, up by five cents from last week.
Buffalo is up four cents at $2.75 and Syracuse is up six cents at $2.78.
The statewide average price is now $2.82, also up by six cents. The national average rose by a nickel.
The auto club says this is due to strong demand and higher oil prices following the bombing raids on Syria. Although Syria is not a major oil producer, tension anywhere in the region affects the markets.
