Nine inmates who were released from the Monroe County Jail to reduce the risk of getting the coronavirus have now been removed from the Town of Greece after objections from the town government and police.
Greece Supervisor Bill Reilich says the level two and three sex offenders were taken from a Greece motel and moved to oa new destination, which was not disclosed. Reilich protested strongly against the released parole violators being put in Greece, saying residents had enough problems with the coronavirus and didn’t need one more concern.
The inmates were in jail on minor parole violations and were released on orders from the state.
