A police chase led to a serious single-car crash on St. Paul Boulevard in Irondequoit about 10:40 this morning. Two people were seriously injured and charges are pending.

New York State Police say they attempted to stop a car on Avenue A  morning, for a person not wearing a seatbelt. The driver sped off, almost hitting a Rochester Police car head on. Police later found the car was stolen.

The driver, 19-year-old Stevon Spencer, continued onto St. Paul Boulevard reaching speeds of 40 to 45 miles per hour while being pursued by State Police. He missed a curve and spun into a tree at St. Paul and Fairview Crescent.
Both Spencer and his passenger, 20-year-old Keith Holmes, were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.
