Sentencing has been postponed for a Rochester man who pleaded guilty to starting a fatal house fire.

Lawrence Dash has been declared mentally incompetent by a judge after stating in court that he was confused about the charges.  He will be examined in court on November 22nd.

Dash pleaded guilty in July to second degree attempted murder and two counts of second degree arson for setting fire to a house on Hertel Street 11 months ago. Champagne Singleton died in that fire, running back into the burning house to look for her children. Both children escaped the fire. Six other people were hurt.

Dash is now scheduled for sentencing on December 14th, depending on the results of the hearing.
