A man who secretly videotaped a trial in Rochester, then posted the video on social media, has pled guilty to a charge of illegally videotaping a witness.
Malik Hymes shot video of a witness testifying in the second degree murder trial of Jesmond White, who was found guilty in the murder of Jamar Paige outside Mark’s Texas Hots on Lake Avenue. Prosecutors say he posted it online in an effort to intimidate that witness.
Cameras are barred from courtrooms in New York State without permission of the trial judge.
Hymes agreed to plead guilty in return for a sentence of no more than five months in jail. He’ll be sentenced on February 22nd.
