For the second time n 24 hours, a person is dead and another is seriously injured in a dirt bike crash on Rochester streets. The second crash happened Monday evening just before 7:00 p.m.
Police say the male driving the dirt bike was heading south on Hudson Avenue, passing cars on the right, when he collided with a car turning left at Hudson Avenue and Avenue D. Both the 21-year-old driver and his 19-year-old female passenger were thrown from the bike. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman is in critical condition at Strong Memorial Hospital. Police say an officer witnessed the crash.
Police say again, the bike was not registered to be on the street.
Shortly before the fatal crash, there was another dirt bike vs. car crash across town. Police say this crash was shortly before 6:00 p.m. Monday on Maple Street on the West Side. The dirt bike crashed into a pickup truck driven by a 36-year-old city woman. The motorcycle rider, a 22-year-old man, was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
