New York State Police have charged a camp counselor for a second time.
Troopers say 20-year-old Nicholas Maroney of Perry has been charged with having sex with a 16-year-old female camper while working as a counselor at the YMCA Genesee Camp Hough on West Lake Road in Castile. He’s been arraigned and sent to the Wyoming County Jail.
Maroney was charged in a previous investigation with endangering the welfare of a child after he came back to the campground drunk and went into the wrong cabin. He fell asleep in the bed of a seven-year-old female camper, although there was no reported sexual contact.
During that investigation, police found evidence that Maroney had an improper relationship with the 16-year-old.
